A quick look at the little things I'm loving right now.



1. The New Forest. 

Every year, since I was a little, tiny child, I have gone camping in the New Forest. Now 23, it's still a place I simply have to visit each year.

I'm a country bumpkin at heart and there is just something about the New Forest that keeps me coming back over and over and over. It's beautiful. Stunning. It has everything– the trees, the greenery, the sea. What more could you ask for? Well, how about wildlife, just everywhere. Oh, it has that too. Pony's walk amongst you, as do cows and donkeys and even pigs, although sadly, I've never seen these guys.

I've said it once and I'll say it again, one day, I will live there. I just need a spare million or so...

2. Birds

I love birds. This is my owl. My lovely, best friend bought it for me for my birthday. Isn't he adorable? Birds fascinate me. I envy their freedom. Their ability of flight. Ever since I was a kid, I've always wished that I could fly. That I had wings and could float away, drifting high into the sky, soaring wherever the wind takes me.


3. Culley

Meet Culley the cat. My desk right now is an absolute state. I can barely even see the surface. Not a problem for Culley. She wants to sleep on the desk, who gives a damn about mess? She will just curl up on top of it. Why the hell not? She also just randomly woke up with a start, hissing and looking utterly confused. My animals amuse me.

4. It's Summer... right?

We're coming to the end of August and I'm not sure I've really seen very much of summer. Here in sunny Cornwall, it hasn't been very sunny at all. There were some beautiful days to be had in the New Forest, yet back home, I have it under very good authority that it rained the entire time. In fact, on my journey home, as soon as we pulled into Devon, the rain started.

But a small detail like that won't deter my nephew. Who needs sun to wear shades? Just wear them around the house. Jake is loving it.
